Motherhood is busy, especially when you’re juggling work and pregnancy. And let’s be real, building a whole new wardrobe for a few months? Not exactly practical. That’s exactly why our Founder, Annie, designed Journal Notes - a lineup of elevated, wear-anywhere pieces made to take you from desk to dinner to downtime with ease.
During her own pregnancies, Annie understood that maternity style isn’t about starting from scratch - it’s about smart investments. A handful of versatile, beautifully made pieces can work seamlessly with your existing wardrobe, giving you more options without more clutter. With 26 effortlessly polished styles in a timeless palette of greys, ivories, black and navy, this collection is all about chic, mix-and-match dressing that works triple time for you.
Here, Annie shares her favourites.
FOR WORK
LS Button Down Collar Top in Black
I’m especially proud of the beautiful merino wool we developed for this top - luxuriously soft, breathable, and with zero itch. When you’re running hot during pregnancy, that’s key. It drapes beautifully over the body, and the collar adds just the right touch of soft tailoring, making it polished enough for meetings but effortless enough to pair with crisp denim for brunch. It’s the piece I keep reaching for as the weather cools in Apollo Bay. (Plus, it's also available in a muted Taupe).
We get so many emails from women navigating maternity pants for the first time, especially those looking for a work-appropriate option before they’ve even announced their pregnancy. The brief is always the same: comfort-first, plenty of stretch to grow with them, and an adjustable waistband (because let’s be real, that’s a non-negotiable).
The result? This cloud-soft wool blend trouser: smooth, sleek, and warm (because office temperatures can be unpredictable!). What I love most is that it’s not just for work, it’s just as perfect for weekend wear and dressier occasions. I’m all about uniform dressing, so I style it with crisp white shirting and our Copenhagen Blazer for a power-dressing Monday moment.

I know people tend to shy away from white pants, but trust me, it’s just as wearable as black. Chic, effortless, and surprisingly versatile, white instantly elevates any colour palette and even has the bonus of brightening your complexion (a trick I swear by when I’m running on broken sleep with my youngest).
What makes these special is the flattering rib knit, which adds just the right amount of texture and dimension so they don’t feel too flat or one-note. They’re an instant outfit upgrade - pair them with our crisp Journal Shirt for an effortlessly polished, meeting-ready look.

FOR THE WEEKEND
Everyday Organic Cotton Pocket Tee
It’s no secret - I’m a fan of forever classics. When the weekend rolls around, my uniform is always the same: denim and a perfect white tee. That’s why I designed this one with longer sleeves, ideal for those tricky in-between seasons.
It’s cut from our premium organic cotton jersey, giving it extra softness and stretch, but for me, the magic is in the details - a flattering stepped hem (great from the side profile), dropped shoulders (always more elegant), and a pocket detail to add just the right focal point. The cropped length makes it even more bump-friendly. Fair warning, you’ll want to live in this one...

Celeste Wide Leg Pant in Stone Grey
The Celeste Wide Leg Pant is a L/H bestseller, and we get constant requests for more hues. This season, we’ve refreshed it in Stone Grey, a soft, grey-based neutral that works effortlessly with your wardrobe. Designed to sit high-waisted/over the bump, the elongating wide-leg silhouette flatters every body, while side splits create a seamless lengthening effect. And, because comfort is always my priority, we’ve crafted it in super-soft, ultra-stretchy luxe rib knit with an elastic waist and matching tie. I’ll be styling mine with the Cosy Knit Jumper (Grey/White Stripe) for my Sunday coffee run
