Meet the all female team behind Légoe Heritage
International Women’s Day is a moment to celebrate the progress, resilience, and the strength of women everywhere. For us, it’s also a chance to pause and acknowledge the women who bring Légoe Heritage to life.
Behind the brand is the quiet power of an all female team of mothers, daughters, friends and leaders. Women building careers while raising families, from navigating school drop-offs and bedtime routines, to creative shoots and strategy meetings.
Légoe was founded on the belief that women deserve to feel supported during motherhood. That belief doesn’t just shape what we design, it shapes how we work.
Our Founder, Annie leads with the same intention that she designs; a deep respect for the changing seasons of motherhood, and a commitment to creating pieces that honour them.
From leading the creative direction and brand vision, styling on shoot days, to steering the company’s operations, she is closely involved in every detail & touchpoint of the business.
Mum to four boys, she speaks candidly about both the challenges, and the pride that has come with building Légoe.
“The journey of growing and running the business is full of constant highs and lows, sometimes leaving you feeling caught in a cycle that’s hard to step away from. One of the quiet struggles behind building the brand was not being able to fully step away for maternity leave, and simply be present in that moment. Something I know is common among business owners, but no less significant”.
Reflecting on the early days of the brand, she highlights the commitment to keeping everything running.
“I remember when I was in active labour with our second, and Légoe was a very lean team, so I was replying to customer emails knowing that I’d be out of action. We live an hour from the hospital, so my husband Rob waited patiently for me to finish replying to our customers, all the while saying ‘we have to go now' - ha. (We made it to the hospital in time by the way - I could have done a few more emails really!)”.
While she wasn’t able to pause for maternity leave, she speaks about the pride she feels at having her boys right by her side on the journey.
“They have been there from the very beginning. From them being on set of many photoshoots, to them playing hide and seek in empty stock boxes, whilst we packed everything into shelving that lived in their rooms, and them 'helping’ me with computer work. So that has been truly special, and a real privilege to show them what can be achieved through hard work & discipline".
Speaking about the all female team at Légoe, balancing out her all male household, Annie reflects on how proud she is to have the team by her side.
“I am so proud of my incredible team, whose talent, dedication, and creativity drive the brand forward every single day. Each of them brings their own expertise, perspective, and infectious energy, and together they transform ideas into reality, handle the complexities of the business with grace, and push the brand to new heights. Their hard work, collaboration, and unwavering commitment, all whilst being absolute legends with the best personalities, not only make the business thrive, but also inspires me daily. I couldn’t do any of what I do, nor would Légoe be where it is without them, and am so grateful I get to work alongside such a brilliant bunch of remarkable women”.
Working alongside Annie is our Designer, Izy. With years of experience in fashion design, and an incredible eye for detail, Izy plays an important role in shaping the iconic silhouettes and fabrications that define Légoe. While currently on maternity leave with her second, her creative influence is woven into every collection; a reminder that the women designing for motherhood are living it too.
Hannah brings creativity and connection to the forefront of the brand. As our Head of Collaborations, she defines how the brand is experienced, and nurtures the relationships that shape our community. With a background in interior design and three young girls at home, she understands both composition and chaos, often within the same morning.
For Hannah, the duality is constant.
“Juggling motherhood, career, and life often feels like running two full-time roles in one day, with very few coffee, or in my case chai, breaks. My mornings usually involve getting my three girls ready for school, making lunches, and doing their hair (multiple times) before school drop-off, all before opening my laptop.”
And over time, she’s learned to give herself grace, and embrace the laughter amongst the juggle.
“I’ve learned to let go of perfection. Some days I’m winning at work and serving toast for dinner. Other days, it’s the reverse. Either way, I try to be fully present where I am, laugh at the mess, and accept that balance isn’t a perfect split. It’s a constant shuffle.”
Her words feel familiar. Our Senior Marketing Manager, Amelia, leads our Marketing team, guiding our broader marketing vision while balancing both creativity with structure. Campaign planning, launch strategies, brand partnerships, and metrics all sit within her world. She captures the way so many working mothers feel:
“Being a full time working mum can sometimes feel like I am being pulled between two different worlds. I spend my mornings cleaning spilled smoothies off the labrador and negotiating with my toddler sons to put their socks on their feet (instead of their hands). Then, after I’ve lived an entire life before 9am, I pull my hair back, put on some blush and talk shop.”
Our Social and Marketing Coordinator Annie translates the heartbeat of the brand into the content you see each day. She captures the behind-the-scenes moments, the final adjustments before a shoot, and the laughter between takes. The little details that bring our brand to life.
Behind the scenes, are the women who truly keep Légoe running - Katelyn, Leslie, Suzie, Tamara and Lily.
They are the hands behind every order confirmation, carefully packed parcel, and customer email answered. It’s their care, precision, and commitment that ensures every mother who shops with us feels supported.
Our Office Manager Katelyn is the quiet powerhouse behind the scenes - leading office operations, supporting our team and holding everything together with calm confidence. And she does it all while raising two little humans. A true example of dedication, balance and strength.
Leslie balances managing customer care whilst also playing a key role in our collaborative projects alongside Hannah - always nurturing our community with patience and kindness, while thoughtfully building the partnerships that help our brand grow.
Suzie, Tamara & Lily, bring so much knowledge and continuity to fulfillment and product supervision, always getting our customer orders shipped out in record time. All the while, both balancing raising two children (Tamara & Lily) and being 7 months pregnant (Suzie).
Their work may not always be front facing, but it is foundational, and their roles are multifaceted. Without them, Légoe simply would not function.
This team is made up of women in different stages of life. Some in the thick of early motherhood, and others supporting from different chapters. What unites us is a shared understanding of what it means to juggle.
International Women’s Day is a reminder of all the work women do, in business and at home.
As Amelia reflects, “I’m not sure I’m nailing the juggle, but are we ever? I’m so grateful to do it with a team of women who get me, see me and support me, even with the smoothie stains still on my favourite shirt”.
We’re incredibly proud to be a female led brand, supported by women at every level, and even prouder to design for a community of women who inspire us daily.
Today, we celebrate them all.
